Acronyms
Introduction
Extension, as with most other agencies, uses many acronyms and abbreviations. For those who are new to Extension, it can be hard to keep up with all the terms that are used on a day-to-day basis. This site should be a valuable resource to you early on and throughout your career in Extension.
This module is designed to provide an overview of many of the abbreviations and acronyms that are used throughout the Extension system. Where possible, web links have been provided for direct access to sites pertaining to the particular acronym or abbreviation. Definitions and descriptions have been added to the national/federal abbreviations and acronyms to aid your understanding. Many of the terms pertaining to the University of Florida, IFAS and local Extension have applicable links that provide additional clarification and contact information.
